●MoUs signed between Pakistan and China

With the continued support of the government of Pakistan, the country would be able to overcome its economic woes, said Saleem H Mandiwala, Minister of State and Chairman Board of Investment. This he said during signing ceremony of a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) Monday. Mandiwala said that such visits lead by the President of Pakistan reaffirms the leadership’s resolve to put the country back on the track of economic prosperity and development.

According to the WB monthly operational summery, WB has an objective to add hydropower generation to the total energy mix, reduce electricity shortages (which are constraining economic growth and efforts at poverty alleviation) and contribute to the institutional development of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Hydel, which owns and operates the existing 3,478 megawatts (MW) Tarbela Hydropower Plant.
