政府は尖閣諸島の3島を9月中旬に地権者から直接購入するため、最終調整に入ったと報じられた。今日は東京都が周辺海域調査に取り掛かっているが,核廃棄物最終処理場として使用するためには,予備調査段階で,地下数百mに達する周辺海域を含めた地質調査が必要で,原発同様に活断層の存在も問題になる。中国との関系も重要だが,何と言っても実効支配継続が大きなポイントである。

政府は原子力発電所から出る使い終えた核燃料を再処理せず地下に埋める「直接処分」を実施するため、関連の予算を来年度の概算要求に盛り込むと報じられた。何年たっても場所も決められず,無為に時間が過ぎてゆくだけ。尖閣は日本の実効支配が確立している島嶼,北方四島などもあるが,住民がいるかいないか,重要なポイント,尖閣の地下深くの地質調査を実施すべし。
